New H.T. Steel Retainers for Various  BSA® & Triumph® Applications

Brand new state of the art finite element analysis software has allowed the KPMI® engineering department to reduce the mass of our heat treated steel retainers. Lightening holes have been added to the steel retainers without sacrificing any strength or durability. All shoulders and cross sections were also analyzed for other opportunities to further reduce mass. These efforts led to mass reductions of up to 25% over the O.E.M. retainers.

Ovate Wire Beehive Valve Spring Kits and Components for Harley-Davidson® Milwaukee-Eight 2017-2018

By taking advantage of the latest development in valve spring wire chemistry and manufacturing techniques, KPMI® has developed ovate wire Beehive style springs that will live and Perform at a high level in Harley Davidson applications. By coupling these developments with strict KPMI® design protocols and employing multiple design, simulation, and FEA analysis software, we were we able to overcome the torsional stresses unique to ovate wire springs that previously severely limited their operating parameters. KPMI® Beehive Springs are progressively wound using Kobe Super-Clean chrome silicon based wire that is heat treated and shot peened. KPMI® uses its tightly toleranced, FEA designed hardened Titanium and H.T. Steel retainers in these applications to ensure correct assembly height and resist keeper pull through. The hardened steel basewashers included in these kits are designed to locate the spring and control lateral movement.

These Black Diamond™ valves for the Milwaukee-Eight were designed by KPMI® to achieve excellent flow characteristics. They are lightweight, one piece forged and made from high strength. They are available with standard head diameters or call for customs sizes.

We choose to use the copper based C63000 nickel-aluminum bronze as a material to make our bronze valve guides because of its ideal characteristics for the application. The 5% nickel content provides superior resistance to wear, and the approximately 80 percent copper content delivers outstanding heat conductivity. KPMI® guide profiles are designed to have minimal effect on the airstream while maintaining critical cross sectional thickness in high-temperature areas, which promotes high performance and endurance.

High Performance " Turbo" and Lightweight Racing Spring Kits with New H.T. Steel Retainers for Polaris® RZR 900/ 1000 Applications

KPMI® performance valve spring kits are modeled using cam profile and simulation software. Nuts (Cylinder Stud), H.T. Steel , Honda®, CB™ 750 SOHC (Excluding F2™), 1969-1978

These nuts are manufactured from a high strength premium steel that promotes excellent surface finish and tight tolerances, two critical factors for achieving correct fit and torque. After machining, the nuts are heat treated to a specific depth. This creates hard, wear resistant working surfaces, while retaining a ductile core to prevent cracking under load. The premium black oxide treatment gives an excellent, corrosion resistant appearance.
